In conjunction with The Blue School in Wells, Taunton Teaching Alliance has secured funding from The National College for Teaching and Leadership for free Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) in Mathematics and Physics. The training is for qualified teachers to re-train through school-led subject specialism training.
We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Mark Williams (and previously Rachael Fraser) for their excellent leadership of this programme and the dedicated staff tutors of The Blue School in Wells who deliver the programme. Thank you to Chilton Trinity School in Bridgwater and Heathfield Community School and The Castle School in Taunton for also facilitating twilight training sessions throughout the programme.
The training enables an individual to teach up to GCSE level.
Those eligible are:
a) Already qualified non-specialist teachers who could potentially teach Maths or Physics
b) Teachers who want to re-train as Maths or Physics Teachers
Please note that all participants must have a least a C grade at GCSE/GCE, though ideally a relevant A level. Also, some teaching experience in either Maths or Physics is desirable, though not essential.
There are up to 20 participant places on each Maths and Physics programme and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
