Blog of the Week from Ian Grant, Assistant Head at Heathfield Community School in Taunton
Practice makes perfect… Just look at Newcastle United’s rise back to the Premiership! What about practice with a purpose in our teaching?
An excellent blog by @teacherhead suggests a range of ten teaching techniques to practice – deliberately and will enhance your teaching by asking you to really think about which elements you want to practice – just pick one to get started.
“It’s a well-established idea that, to develop expertise in a particular skill or technique, you need to practice. The more you practice, the better you get. As outlined by the excellent people at Deans for Impact in their Practice with Purpose document, it helps to identify a specific element of your teaching to practice on and then focus very deliberately on improving in that area”.
