Blog of the Week from Ian Grant, Assistant Head at Heathfield Community School in Taunton
How do we check for recall and understanding by using EFFECTIVE strategies in a busy classroom? This blog by the excellent @teacherhead (Tom Sherrington) gives us some ideas. I am trying to use cold calling (no hands) in all my lessons to get the “confirmation” that students have understood the message. I would like to ban “thumbs up / down” to check if students know something. What do you think?

Have a great first full week back.
